Non e-buses shifted, long routes assigned to other depots

After the Transport Department, now Shimla local depot of HRTC will also be a fully electric bus depot. Non-electric and long routes are being shifted from Simla to other depots. Shimla local depot currently has 70 electric buses. All routes of Shimla local depot will be covered by electric buses.
Shimla HRTC local regional manager Vinod Sharma said that some routes have been shifted from Shimla local depot to other routes. Shimla-Bindla and Shimla Bhukho routes have been shifted to the Karsog depot. Apart from this, Shimla-Sarahar and Shimla-Pahal have been shifted to Shimla-3. Shimla-Manali and Shimla-Seri routes have been shifted to the Mandi depot. Shimla Jwalaji, Shimla-Dhami route has been shifted to Dehra Depot. Shimla-Chandigarh, Shimla-Seri route has been transferred to Shimla-3 Depot. The drivers and conductors working on these routes have also been transferred along with the buses to other depots.
Charging station network will be ready
The Transport Department is preparing a network of charging stations across the state. The department has identified places for setting up charging stations across the state. The process of land transfer has also been completed in many places.
70 e-buses in Shimla, 50 in Dharamshala
At present, HRTC has only Type-1 electric buses. These buses can run only within a radius of 80 km. HRTC is now procuring 225 Type-2 buses. These buses can run up to 250 km. After the arrival of these routes, inter-city electric buses will be run. Apart from this, electric buses will be run on many long routes in the state. Shimla city is running the maximum number of electric buses in the state so far. A total of 70 electric buses are being run in Shimla city. After Shimla, about 50 electric buses are being run by HRTC in Dharamshala.
