Several schoolchildren injured in collision between bus, trailer in Himachal’s Jogindernagar

MANDI: Several schoolchildren were injured in an accident near an approach road in Jogindernagar in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh following a collision between the private schoolbus they were travelling in and a trailer early Tuesday morning.
The crash also left the bus driver seriously injured while several schoolchildren sustained minor injuries. The injured were swiftly transported to the Civil Hospital in Jogindernagar via the 108 Ambulance service. The collision also resulted in a significant traffic jam on the national highway.
The accident occurred as the private school bus, carrying approximately 30 children, was on its way from Jogindernagar to Mandi on the Mandi-Pathankot highway. As the bus was taking a turn near the approach road, it collided head-on with the trailer.
Emergency services responded promptly to the scene. All the injured children and the bus driver were taken to the hospital where they are currently receiving treatment.
The police quickly arrived at the scene to manage the situation and started an investigation into the cause of the accident. Police station in-charge Ashwani Sharma confirmed the incident, while DSP Padhar Dinesh Kumar stated that the police were conducting a thorough investigation.
