GT road traffic to be diverted, internet services in Karnal suspended till Tuesday midnight

Here is an important piece of information for the people who plan to travel to Delhi or return from there using national highway No 44 (Ambala-Delhi road) – also called GT road, on Tuesday.
The Haryana police has made elaborate security arrangements and effected diversions around Karnal with an aim to thwart any untoward incident during the Kisan Mahapanchayat in Karnal as well as farmer leaders’ call to gherao the mini-secretariat there on Tuesday.
According to official information, the inspector general of police (IGP), Karnal range, and all district superintendents of police (SPs) of the Karnal range, have been asked to take the all the preventive and precautionary measures to maintain law and order and peace in Karnal and adjoining districts.
DIVERSIONS FOR DELHI-TO-AMBALA TRAFFIC
Since the main national highway No 44 (Ambala-Delhi) – earlier called GT road – could see traffic disruptions in Karnal district, the police have advised the general public using this national highway to avoid journey through Karnal town and use alternate routes to go to their destination on Tuesday.
Vehicles coming from Delhi side would be allowed to reach Chandigarh via Pepsi Bridge (Panipat) via Munak to Assandh and Munak to Gagsina, via Ghoghadipur to Hansi Chowk of Karnal, via Bypass Western Yamuna Canal road to Karna Lake road via GT Road. The light vehicles would be diverted towards Chandigarh via Madhuban, Daha, Bajida, Ghoghadipur, Hansi chowk, Karna lake road and GT road.
DIVERSION FOR CHANDIGARH-TO-DELHI TRAFFIC
The vehicles coming from Chandigarh side would be diverted from Pipli chowk (district Kurukshetra) via Ladwa, Indri, Bayana, Neval, Kunjpura via Nangla Megha via Amritpur Khurd, Kairavali and Gharaunda via GT road. The light vehicles would be allowed from Ramba,Tarawadi via Ramba chowk, Indri road via Sangoha, Ghid, Baragaon, Neval, Kunjpura via Nangla Megha, Meerut Road via Amrutpanur Khurd, Kairavali and Gharaunda via GT road.
INTERNET SERVICES SUSPENDED
The state government would also suspend the mobile internet services in district Karnal with effect from September 6, 2021 from Monday midnight to Tuesday midnight (September 7) to maintain law and order situation in district Karnal in wake of the Kisan Mahapanchayat.
He said that on the internet services had been suspended with an aim to check the misuse of internet services by way of spread of inflammatory material and rumours, which could be transmitted or circulated to the public through social media or messaging services on mobile internet services, short message service (SMS) and other dongle services. This order would remain in force from 12:30 hrs on September 6, 2021 to 23:59 hrs on September 7, 2021.
