Mandi: In a significant development for commuters along the Chandigarh-Manali National Highway, a second CNG station has commenced operations, easing the journey for motorists traversing the route. Situated in Jhiri, Mandi district, this latest addition marks a boon for travelers, particularly those heading towards the picturesque destination of Manali.
Previously, the absence of CNG refueling facilities beyond Manali posed a challenge for motorists reliant on this eco-friendly fuel option. However, with the inauguration of the Harbansh Lal and Sanj Filling Station, travelers can now access CNG en route, enhancing convenience and promoting sustainable travel practices.
Rakesh Kumar, the station operator, highlighted the growing demand for CNG services in the region, underscoring the station’s strategic significance in catering to this need. Emphasizing the environmental benefits of CNG as a clean and efficient fuel alternative, Kumar reiterated the station’s commitment to providing round-the-clock service to commuters.
The introduction of CNG infrastructure along the Chandigarh-Manali corridor not only aligns with the government’s initiatives to promote eco-friendly fuels but also underscores efforts to expand access to such facilities in hilly terrains like Himachal Pradesh. Taxi drivers, Prince Mehta from Ambala and Jagmohan Singh from Chandigarh, lauded the establishment of the new station, advocating for further expansion to better serve travelers along the highway.
As travelers embrace sustainable transportation options, the opening of the second CNG station heralds a positive step towards reducing emissions and fostering greener travel practices along one of India’s most scenic routes.
