Udaipur (Lahaul-Spiti) | TNR
A minister in the Himachal Cabinet and a BJP leader, caring two hoots for Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur decided to settle scores in the CM’s presence during his visit to Lahaul-Spiti.
This latest incident comes close on the heels of a slapping match between two top police officers in front of the Chief Minister recently in Kullu during the visit of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari.
The scuffle, during the Chief Minister’s visit to Lahaul-Spiti, took place between technical education minister Dr Ramlal Markanda and BJP ST Morcha state president Jawahar Sharma. A video of the scuffle between the two has gone viral on social media and has left the BJP leadership red-faced. The Chief Minister, however, has not reacted to this incident.
Blame game over scuffle
Jawahar Sharma claimed that the ST Morcha office-bearers and workers were raising slogans in praise of the Chief Minister when Markanda pushed them. On the other hand, Markanda said that he had been pulled from someone from behind when Sharma stood in front of him. The minister then asked him to go behind.
CM has lost control : Opposition leader
Opposition leader Mukesh Agnihotri attacked the ruling party stating that the Chief Minister had no control over the bureaucracy and his ministers. BJP state chief spokesman, Randhir Sharma retaliated and said that such small incidents occur due to enthusiasm among party leaders. This definitely did not mean that the Chief Minister has lost control, he added.
