UNA: A Scorpio owner had a miraculous escape after his vehicle got stuck in the strong current of Haroli khud in Himachal Pradesh’s Una district that was in spate following heavy rainfall on Wednesday (July 5, 2023) morning.
The otherwise water-deficient Swan river has swollen due to heavy rainfall in catchment areas. Reports of significant damages have emerged as water suddenly inundated several parts.
The Scorpio was caught in the strong current of water in a ravine adjacent to the Haroli police station. The vehicle was carried away by the gushing water for a considerable distance. No casualties were reported as the driver managed to leap out of the car and save his life.
According to information, Harish, a resident of Sensowal, was returning home after dropping his father near Haroli tehsil. While crossing the seasonal nullah, the water level rose abruptly, catching him off guard. Harish quickly made a life-saving decision by jumping onto the car’s bonnet. Although he managed to escape unscathed, the car continued drifting away, carried by the strong current.
Una experienced heavy rainfall in various areas, leading to extensive damage in Amb, Gagret, Daulatpur Chowk and other locations along with Haroli.
