Classes in boarding schools to continue

The state government has closed all schools in the state till August 28. Teachers, however, will have to attend school regularly and take online classes.
Earlier schools were to remain closed till August 22
Earlier the government had decided to shut schools till August 22 but as per the instructions issued by the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) on Friday, schools will stay closed for one more week.
Classes in boarding school to continue
Classes will continue in all boarding schools in the state. These schools have been instructed to strictly follow the standard operating procedure (SOP) issued by the state government at regular intervals to prevent the spread of infection.
Spike in Covid cases among students
The government had opened schools for classes 10, 11 and 12 on August 2. Following this, several students and teachers had tested positive forcing the government to resort to its present course of action. A decision on keeping schools open or closed after August 28 will be taken at the next meeting of the state Cabinet.
