Shimla: The Supreme Court has provided a legal relief to the Himachal Pradesh government in the Hotel Wildflower Hall case. The apex court upheld the decision of the Himachal Pradesh High Court, delivering a setback to the Oberoi Group. Moreover, the Supreme Court issued a directive, mandating the Oberoi Group to vacate the property within a year.
Government’s Vigorous Defense
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu expressed satisfaction with the Supreme Court’s decision, which aligns with the Himachal Pradesh High Court’s verdict on the Hotel Wildflower Hall matter. He acknowledged the state government’s robust defense in the case, highlighting the effective presentation led by prominent lawyer Mukul Rohatgi. The Chief Minister emphasized that the decision underscores the government’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding the state’s interests.
Future Actions Post Possession
Hotel Wildflower Hall has been under the ownership of the Oberoi Group for an extended period. With the Supreme Court’s directive to vacate the property within a year, the Chief Minister outlined that the state government would evaluate and determine future actions in the best interests of Himachal Pradesh upon obtaining possession of the property.
