SHIMLA: Pandemonium was witnessed in the Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha on the opening day of the monsoon session. The opposition BJP raised slogans inside the House demanding discussion on the rain devastation under Rule 67, after which the opposition walked out of the House.

Regarding the damage caused by the disaster, a proposal was made by the government to discuss the devastation under Rule 102, but the opposition demanded discussion under Rule 67. In such a situation, a tug of war continued inside the House regarding Rules 102 and 67 and the opposition walked out of the Vidhan Sabha raising slogans.Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur said that Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has brought the discussion under Rule 102 but there is a different intention behind it. Accusing the government, Jai Ram said that the government wanted to put the entire blame of the disaster on the central government.

He accused Chief Minister Sukhu of lying.Jai Ram alleged that Chief Minister Sukhu had said that the system would be made smooth within 24 hours, but still basic amenities had not returned to normal. “The people of the state are expecting a discussion on the disaster caused by the rains, but the government is not allowing the discussion to take place,” said Jai Ram.

The former CM said that Himachal is going through the biggest tragedy of the century as roads were closed, power supply snapped and various other schemes were closed. “There is panic all around. Hence, the opposition demanded stopping of all work and discussion under Rule 67. But the government tried to stop the discussion, which is very unfortunate,” said Jai Ram.
