Distribute free food, fruits to 300 patients, attendants

Rotary Club of Chhoti Kashi Mandi on Monday observed their first signature project of the year “ Annapurna Day” at Zonal Hospital Mandi.

Free lunch, fruits and sweets were served to more than 300 patients and their attendants in association with Hirdaya Vasi Seva Samiti Bhojan Seva.

Speaking on the occasion Suman Sharma, secretary, Rotary Club of Chhoti Kashi Mandi, said that every year the Rotary new year starts by observing Annapurna day where food is distributed to poor, destitute, orphanage or old-age homes. “It’s a pan India project which is being organized by all the Rotary Clubs across the nation,” she added.

She informed that for more than 116 years, the guiding principles of Rotary have been service, fellowship, diversity, integrity, and leadership. Rotary members believe that we have a shared responsibility to take action on our world’s most persistent issues.

“Over 35,000 Rotary Clubs worldwide work together to promote peace, fight disease, provide clean water, sanitation, and hygiene, save mothers and children, support education and grow local economies” she added.

The Rotarians present on the occasion expressed great satisfaction over the functioning of Hirdaya Vasi Seva Samiti Bhojan Seva Trust and reiterated their resolve to support the institution in future also. They also pledged to take up various projects during the year to help the needy sections of the society.

Rtn Akhilesh Bharti, Rtn Praboh Anand, Rtn Suresh Gupta, Rtn Raminder Kaur, Rtn Anuradha Sood, Rtn Raminder Kaur, Rtn Akhil Gupta and Rtn Jaspal Singh were present during the occasion along with the volunteers of the Hirdaya Seva Trust members.
