Dharamshala: The National Agriculture and Rural Development Bank (NABARD) has granted financial assistance of ₹296.43 crore to the Himachal Pradesh government for the construction and improvement of 15 rural roads, 30 water supply schemes, and one sewage scheme across various development zones in the state. This loan approval came during a recent meeting of the Project Approval Committee of NABARD.
When contacted NP Singh, Chief Engineer of the Northern Region of the State Public Works Department, highlighted that ₹52 crore crore has been allocated for the construction and upgradation of 7 rural roads.
While, information procured from Jal Shakti department stated that around ₹179.20 crore will be utilized for the construction and improvement of 30 water supply schemes and one sewrage scheme.
In particular, the people of Jaisinghpur, Palampur, Nagrota, Shahpur, and Jwali assembly constituencies in Kangra district will reap the benefits of these initiatives. The rural roads in Kangra’s Nagrota Bagwan constituency, including Toru, Chaparhar, and Voh, as well as in Shahpur’s Boh and Tulla Basti, will undergo construction and upgrades.
Additionally, villages such as Chohla in Dharamshala, Patti, Gohrat, Rajpur, and Bhader in Palampur, and Bahadu, Nadli, Gharachandi, and Malli in Jaisinghpur, will witness significant improvements in their road infrastructure.
These projects are expected to bring about a positive transformation in the quality of life for the residents of these areas by enhancing connectivity and access to essential services.
