Rivalry with Virbhadra family to continue, says Sukh Ram’s MLA-son Anil Sharma
Mandi MLA slams local Congress leaders for failing to deliver despite being in power
MANDI: In a fiery address during the closing ceremony of the seven-day Tripur Bhairava Mela in Pandoh, BJP MLA and former minister Anil Sharma lashed out at local Congress leaders, challenging their ability to deliver development despite being in power in Himachal Pradesh.
Sharma, representing Mandi Sadar, ridiculed the district’s Congress leadership, accusing them of failing to leverage their government’s position for any meaningful development work. “It’s your government… If you have the strength, show us what you can do. But so far, it’s nothing but a joke,” said Sharma.
Opposition But Still Delivering
Highlighting his own efforts, Sharma emphasised that even as a member of the opposition, he has managed to push development initiatives in his constituency. “I am in the opposition, but that hasn’t stopped me from ensuring that work in the Sadar constituency moves forward with the support of the Chief Minister and other ministers.”
Battle with PWD Minister far from over
In a pointed remark, Sharma took aim at the state’s Public Works Department Minister, indicating that an ongoing feud between their families stood unresolved. “This battle will continue,” he stated, underscoring the political tension.
Sharma also urged the public to participate in the BJP’s membership drive, hailing the strength of the party’s organization and the popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “It’s Modi’s leadership and the people’s support that have made BJP the largest political party, and it’s with their blessings that Modi has been elected Prime Minister for a historic third time.”
In a show of commitment, the BJP MLA announced a donation of several lakhs for future development work and the successful organization of the Tripur Bhairava Mela.
