Traffic resumes after 32 hours following landslide on Monday

Shimla | TNR
Vehicular traffic on National Highway-5, which was disrupted following a landslide at Jyuri, Rampur in Shimla district on Monday, was resumed on Tuesday at about 6.25 pm.
Only one lane of the highway was made operational which was still a relief for commuters and travellers stuck on both sides of the landslide-hit stretch on the highway.
Kinnaur district was primarily cut off from the rest of Himachal due to the landslide on Monday.
Other than 150 trucks transporting apples, buses, both government and private, and other vehicles were stranded for over 33 hours.
Public Works Department teams faced difficulty in clearing the rubble due to rocks falling down almost all the time.
