Shimla: Western disturbance is likely to lead to rainfall and snowfall in some parts of Himachal Pradesh on January 28.
The meteorological department has forecast an inclement weather in the state till February 3 and till then there is likelihood of rainfall and snowfall in many places.
Western disturbance is also likely to be active on January 31, February 1 and February 3 and rainfall and snowfall are expected.
A rise in temperatures in many parts of the state was recorded in the past 24 hours. Bharmour in Chamba district recorded 14.9 degrees C, a rise of 8.4 degrees C.
Shimla recorded a maximum temperature of 13.5 degrees C, a rise of 1.7 degrees C. In Bhuntar it was 21.4 degrees C, a rise of 5.2 degrees C, Kalpa 10.8 degrees C (up by 2.8 degrees C, Manali 13.2 degrees C (up by 3.2 degrees C), Sundernagar 22.9 degrees C, Dharamshala 18 degrees C and Una 23 degrees C.
A rise in minimum temperature was also recorded in many places. Shimla 5.8 degrees C, Sundernagar 2 degrees C, Bhuntar 1.6 degrees C, Dharamshala 5.2 degrees C, Una 3.4 degrees C, Manali 1.7 degrees C, Mandi 2.5 degrees C, Dalhousie 2.7 degrees C, Narkanda 2 degrees C, Reckong Peo 0.4 degrees C, and Kalpa minus 2 degrees C.
There has been a rain deficit in the state in December 2023 and January 2024. Only 1.3 mm rainfall has been recorded from January 1 to January 28 whereas an average of 62.85 mm rainfall is recorded during this period.
