DHARAMSHALA: Former Congress national president Rahul Gandhi will not attend the function to mark the completion of one year of the party’s government in Himachal Pradesh that is to be organised in Dharamshala on December 11.
According to information, Rahul will be travelling to four countries, including Indonesia, from December 9 to 14. His sister and Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi, however, would be present at the event. Congress state in-charge Rajeev Shukla and co-in-charge Tajinder Bittu will also travel from Delhi to attend the programme.
The state government has assigned responsibilities to all cabinet ministers for the function. Ministers have been entrusted with the responsibility of transporting people from their respective districts to the venue. In this context, these days all the ministers are busy holding meetings in their respective districts.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has also held a meeting in this regard with all Congress MLAs and candidates who contested the Assembly elections. All the leaders have been entrusted with the responsibility of taking people to the venue of the function and bringing them back. A target has been set to send more people from Kangra, Hamirpur, Una and Chamba to Dharamshala.
