Dharamshala: The first night of the Dharamshala Spring Carnival featuring Nati King Kuldeep Sharma took an unexpected turn as the enthusiastic public demanded a performance beyond the 10:00 PM curfew, leading organizers to navigate the artist through the crowd under police supervision.
While the crowd yearned for more, time constraints compelled the artist to exit the venue.
The Chief Guest, RS Bali, had to leave the event due to ongoing engagements in the budget session at Shimla.
The spotlight of the night, however, was on the 9-year-old Mehvish, who mesmerized the audience with her Bollywood dance performance.
Her younger sister, Kashvi (4), stole the show with a traditional Himachal dance, earning her a cash award of 5000 rupees from the vice-chancellor of Arni University.
Vinay Dhiman, Deputy Director of Tourism, expressed satisfaction with the event’s progress in bringing Himachal’s culture to a unified platform. He envisioned the event evolving into a travel trade fair similar to those in Delhi and Mumbai in the coming years.
Sanjeev Gandhi, representative of the Hoteliers Association, lauded the hoteliers for their contributions to the event’s success. Ashwani Bamba, the association’s leader, announced a road show for travel agents coinciding with the Spring Carnival.
Khushal Singh, a senior IPS officer known for his passion for music, captivated the audience with a beautiful Hindi song from a Bollywood movie. The charged crowd on the first night demanded more performances, setting the stage for an exciting event ahead.
