Warns CM against unfurling of Tricolour on Aug 15

Security categorisation of several VVIPs of Himachal Pradesh has been upgraded after a group claiming to be pro-Khalistan supporters warned Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur against unfurling the Tricolour on August 15.
Recorded message sent to some media persons
A recorded message, warning the CM from going ahead with the unfurling programme, was sent to some media persons.
The message said that Himachal was originally part of Punjab. A plebiscite would be conducted in Punjab and Himachal would be reintegrated with its parent state.
The media persons got the recording at about 10.54 am on Friday.
Caller identifies himself
The person whose voice is heard in the recorded message identified himself as Gurwant Singh Panoon and he claimed that he is the general counsel for SFJ organisation.
The pro-Khalistan group has urged farmers to hit the roads on August 15 and prevent the Chief Minister from unfurling the Tricolour.
Police swings in action
The police swung into action and commenced checking all inbound vehicular traffic. Alert was sent to all law enforcement agencies concerned.
Investigation of this case has been handed over to cyber cell of the CID. Intensive screening of incoming vehicles at inter-state borders is being carried out.
Security categorisation upgraded
The security categorisation of Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, BJP national president J P Nadda and Union Cabinet minister Anurag Thakur has been upgraded in the state.
