SOLAN: Suresh Kashyap, BJP MP from Shimla parliamentary constituency, has attacked Congress national general secretary Priyanka Gandhi for visiting Himachal Pradesh when “only traces of the tragedy of the recent torrential rain had been left”.
“If not politics, what is it,” he asked, talking to the media in Solan. Kashyap, who was the Himachal BJP president before Dr Rajeev Bindal took over recently, said another reason for Priyanka Gandhi to visit Himachal earlier was that she had he own house in Shimla (in Chharabra).

“It took her two months to come to Himachal. The top BJP leadership, including national president JP Nadda and Union Minister Anurag Thakur, on the other hand, visited Himachal Pradesh right after the tragedy struck to take stock of the people’s pain. They stood with the people in their hour of grief. Why couldn’t Priyanka Gandhi do so. She too should have stood with the people when they needed her the most,” he said.
Kashyap alleged that Priyanka had vanished from Himachal soon after the Assembly elections, reaslising well in advance that her party had being given “false guarantees and had made promises that could never be fulfilled”.
