Post Ayodhya: Congress MLA attempts to grab headlines by opposing own govt

Dharamshala: Congress MLA Sudhir Sharma, a senior leader not included in the state cabinet, has once attempted to grab headlines by openly opposing his own government’s decision to put a stop to the MLA LAD (Local Area Development) fund. Sharma, who recently gained attention for his visit to the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, has criticized the move to withhold fund.

Concerns Over Impact on Developmental Projects

Sudhir Sharma in press statement issued here on Friday emphasized that the Legislative Fund has historically played a vital role in contributing to the development of various regions, particularly in addressing the aftermath of natural disasters. He said that the fund has been a crucial resource for legislators to undertake development projects.

Earlier, sensing the emotions of masses, he visited Ram Mandir at Ayodhaya with few of his fellow MLA and had placed his big hoardings with lord ram back here in his constituency. Those hoardings had no Congress symbols, only lord Ram’s image was used with Sudhir Sharma on huge banners.

BJP already criticising Sukhu govt.

BJP was already opposing this move of MLA LAD by govt. and had staged walk out from assembly session during budget session and various other saffron party leaders had criticised Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu for stopping MLA LAD (Local Area Development) fund.

Call for Prompt Reconsideration

In a press statement issued on Friday, Sharma urged the state government to promptly reconsider its decision and release the funds for the immediate welfare of the public. He stressed the importance of the Legislative Fund in addressing the needs of the community and emphasized its historical significance in undertaking developmental projects that benefit the public at large.

Hopes for re-evaluation during upcoming meeting

Sharma anticipates a positive outcome from the scheduled meeting on January 29-30 this month. He expressed hope that the state government would revisit its decision and release the Legislative Fund as a significant gesture for the overall betterment of the community.
