PM to interact with frontline workers on Sept 6

CM holds virtual meet with top brass officers

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated the state government for achieving the target laid down to vaccinate all above 18 years of age with the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. 

PM to hold virtual meeting with frontline workers

Following this 100 per cent coverage, the Prime Minister will hold a virtual meeting with frontline workers whose active participation helped the government achieve this target. This was stated by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while presiding over a video conference with deputy commissioners, superintendents of police, chief medical officers and principals of medical colleges, medical superintendents, sub-divisional officers and block development officers from Shimla on Tuesday.

90 LED screens to be installed

The chief minister said that 90 LED screens would be installed at various places in the state the district, sub-division and block development headquarters besides other prominent places so that people could participate in the mega event. He added that health workers would interact with the Prime minister and apprise him of all steps taken to make the vaccination drive a success.

Focus on inaccessible areas: CM

The CM said special attention should be paid to vaccinating people in inaccessible areas like Bada Bangal in Kangra district, Malana in Kullu and Dodra Kwar in Shimla district. He also issued orders to identify doctors, para-medical staff, Asha workers and other frontline workers who had performed exceptionally well during the pandemic.

The state government would operate a special helicopter service to vaccinate the remaining people of Bada Bhangal area of Kangra district, Thakur informed.

Follow Covid protocol

The CM said that strict Covid protocol would be followed at all venues where the event will be screened. He said local MLAs, vaccinated people and public representatives would participate in the event and that would make it an even bigger success.

Chief secretary Ram Subhag Singh asked the officers to start a special campaign to get all the remaining people vaccinated by September 4. He said the state had also achieved the target of zero wastage of vaccines.

Additional chief secretary JC Sharma, secretary of health Amitabh Awasthi, ADGP Ashok Tiwari, Director of Information and Public Relations Harbans Singh Brascon, director of health services Dr Anita Mahajan and other senior officials were present during the meeting.
