Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Saturday and expressed India’s willingness to contribute in any way towards peace efforts in the wake of the ongoing conflict situation in Ukraine.
The Ukrainian President briefed the Prime Minister in detail about the conflict. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Modi expressing deep anguish over the loss of life and property due to the ongoing conflict, reiterated his call for an immediate cessation of violence and return to dialogue. He also conveyed that India was willing to contribute in any way towards peace efforts, a PMO release said. This apart, safety and security of Indians in Ukraine is of deep concern to India, Modi told Zelensky. In this respect, he asked the Ukrainian President to facilitate and expedite the safe evacuation of Indian citizens stranded in Ukraine.
