The driver of a vehicle died after his vehicle hit a cow, 300 metres away from Durgheti, on the way to Dakog.
The driver, Pawan Kumar, 39, son of Netra Singh, of Rahela village in Garima tehsil, was driving back home with his wife Anita Devi, 34, after a hospital visit in Chamba.
According to an eye witness, the vehicle hit a cow which fell off the hill above HP 46 5050, and lost control falling into the Ravi river.
While Pawan Kumar’s body and vehicle were recovered from the middle of the river, by rescue personnel, his wife Anita is still missing.
Pawan Kumar’s post mortem is being done at Bharmour Hospital and action on the accident is being taken under 174 CRPC.
Information on the accident was received at Police Station, Bharmour which initiated rescue proceedings.
