KINNAUR: A second-year nursing student, identified as Aarzoo (23), hailing from Kinnaur district in Himachal Pradesh, died by suicide by hanging herself in her rented accommodation at the MM Deemed University at Mullana in Haryana’s Ambala.
Aarzoo was found dead by her housemates in their paying guest (PG) accommodation. Upon receiving information, local law enforcement officials rushed to the scene and initiated a comprehensive investigation into the incident. They subsequently arranged for the body to be transferred to the hospital mortuary.
The family of the deceased student is expected to arrive in Mullana on Monday (September 18, 2023). Following their arrival, the post-mortem examination will be conducted and the body will be handed over to the family.
Mullana Police Station In-charge Surendra Singh said that further action would be determined based on the statements provided by the student’s family and other living in the PG.
In an effort to ascertain the circumstances leading up to the incident, authorities have seized the girl’s mobile phone, which is currently locked. No suicide note was discovered at the scene. The cause of the suicide remains unknown and will only be revealed following the completion of the post-mortem examination.
