Notices have been issued to 282 private colleges in Himachal Pradesh for not implementing the disaster management plan. The Himachal Pradesh Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Commission has sought answers in this regard from all the colleges by the end of this month.
The Commission has also sought information regarding securing the buildings of educational institutions and the appointment of nodal officers.
Commission Chairman Major General (retd) Atul Kaushik said that the non-implementation of the disaster management plan is a serious matter. Action will be taken against the institutes that are negligent as per the rules.
Degree, BEd, pharmacy, nursing, medical, dental, and engineering colleges opened in the state’s private sector have been asked why they have not implemented the disaster management plan so far.
