Vehicular traffic disrupted on 91 roads in the state on Thursday
84 houses and 35 cattle sheds damaged

There was still no trace on Thursday of the seven people reported missing, after they were swept away due to floods, in Kullu and Lahaul Spiti.

Teams of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Border Road Organisation (BRO) and local administration are continuing the search and rescue operation.
Tourists stranded
175 tourists, including 16 children and 60 women, are reported to be stranded in Pattan valley of Udaipur. The Pangi route that they could have taken is not expected to be clear for vehicular traffic before Friday evening. Evacuation by helicopter has been requested by Lahaul district collector.
Damage in past 24 hours
In the past 24 hours on Thursday heavy rainfall is reported to have caused damage to 84 houses and 36 cattle sheds in the state. The current rainy season has so far damaged 564 houses in the state.
94 Roads obstructed
Rainfall-related incidents obstructed vehicular traffic on 94 roads, including Kalka-Shimla national highway 5, in the state on Thursday. NH 5 remained closed for several hours following the landslide in Buri of Solan district. Transportation of apples has been badly impacted due to road closures.
Cloudbursts reported in nine places
This year nine incidents of cloudbursts have been reported in the state. Seven of these were reported in Lahaul Spiti and two in Chamba. Cloudbursts, floods, landslides and heavy rainfall have caused a loss of Rs 517 crore worth of government and private property in the state so far. The loss reported by Public Works Department alone has risen to Rs 339 crores.
Water and power supply disrupted
Nearly 300 water supply projects in the state have been impacted due to heavy rainfall, floods and landslides. Potable water supply disruption is causing serious problems for residents.
In all 96 transformers have been shut down in Lahaul Spiti, Kullu, Chamba and Mandi districts.
Orange alert till August 2
Weather department has issued an orange alert till August 2 and cautioned people to stay away from rivers and landslide-prone mountains. Heavy rainfall would continue in some areas of the state.
