No mask, no social distancing as CM, other BJP top guns take inaugural ropeway ride in Dharamsala

Rules and penalties, it seems, are only for the common people. The VIPs and politicians are mostly seen getting away scot-free after violations, even if these are captured on camera.

At a time when the Himachal Pradesh government is contemplating imposing strictest restrictions to check Covid surge, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur and a few top BJP leaders of the Kangra region could be seen allegedly violating the Covid protocol in Dharamsala.

During an inaugural ride of the Dharamsala-McLeodganj ropeway on Wednesday, the Chief Minister, his Cabinet colleagues and a few others could be seen seated in a gondola without allegedly following the basic Covid protocol of wearing masks and maintaining social distancing.

A photo shared on social media shows Jai Ram Thakur is accompanied on the ride by Rajya Sabha MP Indu Goswami, state Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Sarveen Chaudhary, Industry Minister Vikram Thakur and Dharamsala MLA Vishal Nehria.

The selfie appears to have been clicked by the Dharamsala BJP MLA, who recently courted a controversy after his estranged HAS officer-wife Oshin Sharma accused him of stalking.
