National Highway-05, near Jyuri, Rampur in Shimla was closed for vehicular traffic for nearly 10 hours on Monday morning, following a massive landslide in the area.
No casualties reported
No casualties have been reported. Long queues of vehicles were seen on both sides of the road. Later, the NH maintenance wing was seen removing debris from the spot of the landslide.
However, there is a fear of a landslide recurring in the area due to its mountainous terrain. Movement of people in the area has been badly hampered due to the closure of the National Highway.
The work of clearing the debris is in progress and regular traffic is expected to resume after reopening of the road only by 9 pm.
