Newly Formed State Selection Commission to Start Recruitments from New Year, Cabinet Decides

Dharamshala: The recently constituted State Selection Commission of the state is set to initiate recruitment from the new year, as per a decision made by the Cabinet under the leadership of Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu.

The first recruitment examination through the commission will focus on the recruitment of Officers of Training Institutes (OTIs).

Deepak Sannan, the head of the committee formed for the recruitments through the new commission, presented the proposal before the Cabinet in an online presentation. The state government disbanded the previous State Staff Selection Commission in February following the leak of examination papers.

The dissolution of the commission resulted in a delay in several recruitments, leaving thousands of applicants awaiting examination results.

Now, almost a year later, the government has resolved to resume the recruitment process through the newly formed commission, bringing relief to the unemployed youth eagerly anticipating these opportunities.

It was also decided that starting from the next academic session, all government primary schools in the state will introduce English as a medium of instruction from the first grade.

The government has further granted schools the authority to purchase smart uniforms. Additionally, the decision was made to fill 25 coaching positions in the Sports Department.

Furthermore, the state government approved the draft of the Rajiv Gandhi Swarozgar Yojana, announced earlier. The amendments proposed during the winter session of the legislature were also granted approval in this meeting.

In a notable addition, two newly appointed ministers, Rajesh Dharmani and Yadavendra Goma, attended the meeting for the first time.

This decision to kickstart recruitments and introduce significant changes in the education system marks a significant step toward addressing unemployment concerns and enhancing the quality of education in the state.
