MANDI: Ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Himachal Janata Party (HJP) has unveiled its election agenda, positioning itself as a “formidable contender” across the state. With focus on key issues such as employment, stray cattle protection and accessible education, the party is gearing up to contest all four parliamentary seats in Himachal Pradesh.”
The spotlight is on Mandi, the state’s second-largest parliamentary constituency, where the HJP has nominated Mahesh Saini, a resident of Balh. The announcement was made at a press conference presided over by party president Pawan Katoch in Mandi, emphasising the “party’s commitment to address pressing concerns facing the region”.
Speaking on the occasion, Katoch highlighted the party’s vision to prioritise youth empowerment, animal welfare and educational reforms. He underscored the urgency of finding sustainable solutions to these challenges, pointing out the shortcomings of previous administrations in tackling them effectively.
Katoch stressed the need for governmental initiatives to revitalise public education and healthcare system, ensuring equitable access for all citizens. He called for concerted efforts to uplift government schools and healthcare institutions, bridging the gap between privileged and marginalised communities.
As the political landscape evolves, the HJP aims to galvanise support from diverse segments of society, promising to champion the interests of the people in Parliament. Mahesh Saini echoed this sentiment, expressing his commitment to represent the aspirations of the people of Mandi and advocating for their rights at the national level.
