Nearly 400 students honoured at TNR Shining Star Awards in Solan

Chief Guest CPS Sanjay Awasthy tells parents to let kids choose career on their own

Nearly 400 meritorious students were felicitated at the prestigious TNR Shining Star Awards in Solan on Saturday (July 6, 2024), the event having elicited massive response from Class 10 and Class 12 pupils who recently cleared their board examination scoring 85 per cent or higher marks.

Himachal Pradesh Chief Parliamentary Secretary Sanjay Awasthy, a two-term MLA from Arki in Solan district, was the Chief Guest. He encouraged the students to ensure their physical as well as mental well-being and remain focused on their goal.

He also asked them to take help of meditation and yoga, saying the ancient Indian art, if made part of daily lifestyle, could work wonders in one’s life.

Sanjay Awasthy asked the parents of the children to let their children chose their career on their own as they were capable enough to do so.
Navneet Marwaha, former Himachal Pradesh Drugs Controller, was the Special Guest and he too encouraged the students to keep striving towards success.

A massive rush was witnessed at the venue, Art and Culture Auditorium at Kotho in Solan town, as students started queuing up for registration since early morning. The awards ceremony was from 10 am to 2 pm, but eligible students had to report at the venue for registration at 9 am.

The Newz Radar, the trusted and only English digital news network based in Himachal Pradesh, has already organised the TNR Shining Star Awards in Kangra, Chamba, Kullu, Mandi, Bilaspur, Una, Hamirpur and Nahan.

The awards were instituted in 2023 to celebrate the extraordinary academic achievements of super brains, among them several from ordinary backgrounds.

The aim behind organising the Shining Star Awards is to connect with bright young minds and foster a constructive society, says Sunil Chadha, Executive Editor at The Newz Radar.

He avers that it’s a must to honour students, their parents and teachers who have worked hard for years to achieve such academic milestones.
At the awards function in Una on June 26 (2024), Himachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri had lauded Team Newz Radar for its innovative social initiative Shining Star Awards.

As the Chief Guest, Mukesh Agnihotri had praised TNR Political Editor S Gopal Puri and Executive Editor Sunil Chadha, emphasising their remarkable accomplishments in journalism at a young age and their efforts to drive social change through the Shining Star Awards.
