Mandi: The Namdhari Sangat Mandi Trust commemorated the 208th Prakash Utsav (birth anniversary) of Satguru Ram Singh with solemnity and grandeur on February 24.
The occasion was marked by a vibrant Nagar Kirtan (religious procession) that commenced from the historic Ram Nagar Gurudwara, traversing through significant landmarks such as Seri bazar, ITI square concluding at Namdhari Gurudwara in Ram nagar.
Reflecting on the profound legacy of Satguru Ram Singh, councillor Hardeep Singh ‘Raja’ highlighted how Satguru’s visionary leadership reshaped the socio-religious landscape during pivotal moments in history.
Satguru Ram Singh’s reinstatement of the Khalsa Panth on the auspicious day of Vaisakhi in 1857, echoing the teachings of Guru Gobind Singh, underscored his unwavering commitment to safeguarding the nation and its spiritual ethos.
Pioneering unprecedented social reforms, Satguru Ram Singh championed causes that transcended geographical and temporal boundaries. His steadfast advocacy against British goods, a stance echoed decades later by Mahatma Gandhi, exemplified his foresight and resilience in challenging colonial hegemony. Establishing a parallel government and forging alliances with global powers, including Russia, demonstrated his strategic acumen in advancing the cause of Indian independence.
