Nalagarh: Once again, the Nalagarh-Ramshehar-Shimla road remained closed for four hours near Nalua. From Tuesday morning, starting at 7 AM, the route was blocked until shortly after 11 AM. The road closure was initially caused by a bus, followed by a truck laden with sand getting stuck in the marshy terrain. The truck was later extricated, and the road was reopened for traffic. After remaining closed for 19 hours on Monday, the Ramshehar-Shimla road faced another closure on Tuesday.
The section near Nalua was particularly treacherous, with the road in such a poor state that even gentle braking caused vehicles’ tires to sink and veer dangerously. The bus destined for Shimla, scheduled for departure at 7 AM, came to a halt here, effectively closing the road. Subsequently, the bus was somehow pulled free with the help of a tractor. However, shortly afterward, another truck filled with sand became stranded at the same spot, leading to another road closure.
The truck was removed at around 11 AM, and normal traffic flow was restored.Assistant Engineer Ishwar Chand from the Local Roads and Buildings Department mentioned that the road had been reopened for traffic shortly after 11 AM. He explained that the road closure was initially caused by a bus and subsequently by a truck that got stuck. Both vehicles were successfully retrieved with the assistance of other vehicles.
Chand further noted that efforts were ongoing to improve the road conditions.Photo: Nalagarh-Ramshehar-Shimla Road Blocked Near Nalua Due to a Bus Getting Stuck in the Marshy Terrain.
