Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president and Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda is set to return to his home state of Himachal Pradesh today, marking his first visit after taking on a ministerial role at the Centre. The BJP has pulled out all the stops to ensure a grand reception, with an estimated 10,000 party workers expected to gather for the occasion.

Nadda will arrive in Bilaspur via helicopter and will be welcomed in a grand ceremony at the auditorium of the Language and Culture Department in Roda Sector. Preparations for the event continued late into the night, with BJP and Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) workers busy decorating the city with flags, banners, posters, and hoardings celebrating their leader’s return.

This visit marks Nadda’s first to Himachal since the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, during which he campaigned actively. Since then, his responsibilities at the Centre have grown, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi entrusting him with the additional portfolio of Chemicals and Fertilisers, alongside his role as Union Health Minister. Nadda also serves as a Rajya Sabha MP from Gujarat.

Due to his key role in overseeing the Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana Assembly elections as BJP national president, Nadda has not been able to visit his home state in recent times, making today’s event highly anticipated by party supporters.

The BJP claims that 10,000 workers will participate in the welcome ceremony, highlighting the widespread support for Nadda in his home state. Following the reception, Nadda is scheduled to visit the Bilaspur district court premises, after which he will head to the AIIMS campus in Kothipura for a meeting with the institute’s management. In the evening, he will join Durga Puja celebrations at the Baba Nahar Singh temple in Dholra.

Nadda’s visit to Himachal is set to span two days, with another grand event planned for tomorrow in Nahan. Here, he will inaugurate the newly constructed BJP office building and address a large public gathering, where party workers are again expected to turn out in large numbers to greet him.

As a native of Bilaspur, Nadda’s return to Himachal has been eagerly awaited, with local BJP workers and leaders preparing for a series of ceremonial events to honour their leader.
