Mandi: Pawan Kumar, hailing from the village of Kuthead in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh, has traversed an extraordinary path from serving in the Border Security Force (BSF) to pursuing his passion for music.
At the age of 18, faced with challenging family circumstances, he made the decision to join the BSF, which took him to various regions across India, including Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan’s Pokhran, and anti-Naxal operations in Odisha.
After eight years of service in the BSF, Pawan transitioned to the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) as a trainer. Despite his demanding job, his love for music remained unwavering since childhood. During breaks from duty, he would often find solace in writing songs and recording them in studios.
Pawan’s musical journey includes recording several songs like “Kanchi Ek Pahadan,” “Gadreti,” and “Shiva Tera Dhuna.” Additionally, he has penned a song for a Himachali film titled “Heeraye,” set to release soon.
Despite facing setbacks and not achieving immediate success, Pawan remained determined to pursue his passion for music.
One of his recent compositions, a deeply personal song reflecting on the bond between a mother and daughter, has finally been recorded after several years. Inspired by his sister’s engagement, Pawan poured his emotions into this heartfelt melody, determined to share it with the world, regardless of its commercial success.
The song titled “Amma ji” was released yesterday on February 16, by Oshin Sharma, a native of his village and currently posted as assistant revenue Officer cum tehsildar at Sandhol, in Sarkaghat sub division of Mandi district.
“Iam really grateful to Oshin Sharma, who treats me as her brother, for her kind gesture,” Pawan said while talking to The Newz Radar.
With the support of a talented team, including music composer Arun K P Studios, video director Anmol Sharma, and lyricist Pankaj Kahani, along with Nikita portraying the role of a daughter in the song, Pawan’s composition has come to life.
The song, now available on Pawan’s YouTube channel “Radhekrishna Creations,” has already garnered praise from listeners. Pawan humbly requests everyone to embrace this song, which transcends mere entertainment, capturing the essence of the mother-daughter relationship.
Pawan’s journey exemplifies resilience, passion, and the power of pursuing one’s dreams against all odds. As he continues to navigate life’s challenges, his music serves as a beacon of hope and inspiration for many.
