The prolonged monsoon in the state has weakened and is expected to withdraw completely from the state soon. According to the Meteorological Centre, Shimla, the weather in the state will remain clear from October 6 to 9. Conditions are now favourable for the withdrawal of the south-west Monsoon from parts of North-west India during the next 24 hours. The department has forecast its departure in the state by October 9.
Bharmour, Rohtang and other high peaks (high altitude areas) in the state recorded light snowfall and a drop in temperatures. Minimum and maximum temperatures during the last 24 hours recorded a drop of 1 to 2 degrees Celsius. The lowest temperature was 3.9 degrees Celsius and the highest temperature was 34.7 degrees Celsius in Una.
