Dharamshala: Sanjay Awasthi, the executive president of the Pradesh Congress Committee, raised concerns over the degradation of ethical standards in politics during a press conference in Dharamshala.
He pointed fingers at the BJP, alleging a conspiracy to undermine democracy through the misuse of financial power. Awasthi highlighted the pivotal role of former legislators in Dharamshala while lamenting the diminishing ethical integrity in political affairs.
Defending former MLA Sudhir Sharma’s participation in the Ram Mandir foundation stone laying ceremony, Awasthi emphasized its alignment with the principles of Lord Ram and criticized Sharma for allegedly betraying the Congress party and the people of Dharamshala.
Awasthi disclosed Sharma’s aspirations to contest Lok Sabha elections post his BJP affiliation, underscoring the repercussions of unchecked ambition and personal agendas in the state’s political landscape.
