Medicines for BP, fever, ulcer among 20 found substandard, were manufactured in Himachal
SHIMLA: In a drug alert issued for the month of August, samples of 59 medicines manufactured across India, including 20 from Himachal Pradesh, have failed to meet quality standards.
The substandard medicines are for a wide range of treatments, including those for gastric issues, ulcers, pneumonia, bacterial infections, diarrhea, throat pain, constipation, blood circulation problems, heart conditions, back pain, anticoagulation, mental illness, epilepsy, fever and blood pressure.
State Drug Controller Manish Kapoor confirmed the failure of these samples and announced that notices will be issued to cancel the licences of the pharmaceutical industries responsible. Kapoor also stated that the stock of these medicines will be recalled from the market immediately.
