Found guilty of assault to outrage girl student’s modesty, criminal force against woman, wrongful confinement

Kangra: A doctor has been sentenced to 14 months imprisonment on the charge of assault or criminal force to a woman with intent to outrage her modesty under Section 354 of IPC by judicial magistrate first class Shubhangi Joshi of Kangra court. The court fined him Rs 1000.
The accused, Dr R S Yadav has also been sentenced to two months imprisonment on the charge of wrongful confinement under Section 342 of IPC.
According to the information, the complainant filed a report at Kangra Police Station on January 17, 2008, stating that she is a student at Dr Rajendra Prasad Medical College, Tanda, Kangra.
The survivor explained that the doctor (Dr R S Yadav) harassed her and called her into the room, turned off the room lights, closed the door, and assaulted her.
Additional district attorney’s Sweta ji and Ritika Patrawal represented the case. Ritika Patrawal stated in court that the accused had broken the sacred teacher-student relationship and sent a wrong message to society. This has made it difficult for many girls to pursue education. In this case, the government produced 11 witnesses in the court.
