Massive response to TNR Shining Star Awards in Nahan

The prestigious TNR Shining Star Awards elicited a massive response in Nahan (covering Sirmaur district) on Thursday (July 4, 2024) as a large number of meritorious Class 10 and Class 12 students, having 80 per cent or higher marks in their board examination, turned up at the venue.

Though the registrations for the event were to start at 9 am, students started arriving early morning and long queues were seen outside the venue, the SFDA Hall (opposite Zila Parishad Office) in Nahan.

Himachal Pradesh Industries Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan, who is a five-term MLA from Shillai in Sirmaur district, is the Chief Guest.
The Newz Radar, the trusted and only English digital news network based in Himachal Pradesh, has already organised the Shining Star Awards in Kangra, Chamba, Kullu, Mandi, Bilaspur, Una and Hamirpur. After Nahan, Team TNR will be heading to Solan for a similar function on July 6.

The TNR Shining Star Awards were instituted in 2023 to celebrate the extraordinary academic achievements of super brains, among them several from ordinary backgrounds.

The aim behind organising the Shining Star Awards is to connect with bright young minds and foster a constructive society, says Sunil Chadha, Executive Editor at The Newz Radar. He avers that it’s a must to honour students, their parents and teachers who have worked hard for years to achieve such academic milestones.

At the awards function in Una on June 26 (2024), Himachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri had lauded Team Newz Radar for its innovative social initiative Shining Star Awards. As the Chief Guest, Mukesh Agnihotri had praised TNR Political Editor S Gopal Puri and Executive Editor Sunil Chadha, emphasising their remarkable accomplishments in journalism at a young age and their efforts to drive social change through the Shining Star Awards.
