Employment Fairs to be Held Twice a Year in Colleges. 6,000 Positions to be Filled in the Education Department.Efforts to Initiate MBA/MCA Classes in Addition to BA/BCA in Palampur.Palampur, September 9 – On the occasion of the 49th birth anniversary of Param Vir Chakra martyr Captain Vikram Batra, an inter-college competition was organized at the Government College Palampur.
The Chief Guest for the event was the Principal Secretary of Urban Development and Education, Ashish Butail.The program was chaired by Captain Vikram Batra’s father, Mr. G.L. Batra, and mother, Kamal Kant Batra.
Also present at the event were Asha Ahluwalia, Praveen Ahluwalia (Ashok Chakra martyr Major Sudhir Walia’s sister and brother-in-law), and Dr. N.K. Kalia (father of Captain Saurav Kalia, who achieved martyrdom in the Kargil War).
On this occasion, Ashish Butail mentioned that Palampur has a special identity thanks to its brave sons who have contributed to the nation with their indomitable courage and valor. He emphasized that it’s a matter of pride that Palampur gave the nation its first Param Vir Chakra martyr, Major Somnath Sharma.
Captain Vikram Batra, a son of Palampur, was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra for his unmatched bravery during the Kargil War. Captain Saurav Kalia, who hailed from Palampur, also received the highest honor, the Ashok Chakra, for his exceptional valor during peacetime.
Ashish Butail highlighted that during the recent natural disasters, over 400 people lost their lives in Himachal Pradesh, and many suffered significant property damage. He stated that the state government has put a hold on organizing events in the state during this crisis.
However, he emphasized that the celebration of Captain Vikram Batra’s birth anniversary is significant for the state, and it’s a day to remember. He further revealed that under the leadership of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the state government is committed to working for the welfare of the people.
More than 6,000 positions are being filled in the Education Department, and job fairs and career counseling programs will be held in all colleges every six months. Additionally, efforts will be made to initiate MBA/MCA classes in Palampur’s Government College after the completion of the self-financed building for BA/BCA.
Ashish Butail expressed his gratitude to students who donate blood, stating that blood donation is a noble act of public service, and on Captain’s Vikram Batra’s birth anniversary, it is a true tribute to his memory.
