Mandi Mahashivratri festival concludes with traditional send-off to hundreds of hill gods and goddesses

MANDI: On the concluding day of the Mahashivratri festival, fervent devotion overflowed in Mandi town as all the congregations of hill gods and goddesses assembled for a traditional send-off by the district administration, popularly known as “Chauhatta ri Jattar”, marking a poignant end to the sacred festivities.

From here, hundreds of devotees gathered at Chauhatta, bidding farewell to all the gods and goddesses with moist eyes and cherished memories, promising to meet and greet them again next year.

Amidst the vibrant atmosphere, devotees fervently sought blessings from the divine entities, expressing their heartfelt aspirations for prosperity and well-being. A momentous sight unfolded as Lord Brahma himself graced the occasion, encircling the city and symbolically binding a protective thread, infusing the atmosphere with divine sanctity.

The international Mahashivratri festival in Mandi district witnessed an impressive congregation of hundreds of gods and goddesses, who bestowed their blessings upon countless devotees gathered at Chauhatta.

The event culminated with a majestic procession, led by esteemed dignitaries including Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, who addressed the gathering at Paddal Maidan, announcing the successful conclusion of the festival.

Meanwhile, the departure of revered deity Bada Dev Kamrunag from Chhoti Kashi marked a poignant moment as devotees bid farewell to their beloved deity. Prior to his departure, Bada Dev Kamrunag was honoured with a grand procession and bestowed with ceremonial offerings, underscoring the deep reverence and devotion of the faithful.

As the festival drew to a close, devotees cherished the moments spent in the presence of Bada Dev Kamrunag, who graciously offered his blessings and guidance. In the days to come, devotees will fondly reminisce about the spiritual communion experienced during the Mahashivratri celebrations, eagerly awaiting the auspicious return of their revered deity.
