The country’s strategically important Manali-Leh National Highway has been restored for traffic after 41 hours.
The road was blocked due to a heavy landslide near Nehru-Kund two days back. Hundreds of vehicles were stuck in the area due to closure of roads.
The BRO team had continued restoration work of the Manali-road on Thursday night as well.
BRO Commander Uma Shankar said that rocks that had obstructed the road were broken by means of blasting.
Deputy Commissioner of Kullu, Ashutosh Garg said there was a constant danger of landslides during the rainy season. He therefore warned drivers to be careful at all times.
