Portion of hill caved in near Dhali police station

Vehicular traffic on national highway-5 was disrupted following a landslide on Sunday at 10 am near Dhali police station. The affected portion was declared a one way to regulate traffic till noon even as road clearance work was initiated.
Traffic halted from noon to 6 pm
Fearing a bigger landslide a team of Public Works Department deployed machines to cut through the unstable portion of the hill. However, commuters and travellers were stranded.
Alternate routes were provided to MTV’s while HTVs were made to wait. Several trucks were stopped all along the route to prevent a traffic jam on both sides of the affected portion of the highway.
