Kullu govt school teacher suspended after 3 years of chronic lateness 

The Himachal Pradesh Education Department has suspended a teacher from Government Primary School at Chaupadsa in Laghati in Kullu district has been suspended due to alleged habitual tardiness.

The teacher, who had been arriving late for nearly three years, was officially suspended and her headquarters has now been assigned to Naggar, where she will be required to mark daily attendance.

The suspension order came after a thorough investigation, which included statements from both the school management committee and parents.

 

Late arrival disrupts student learning

 

The teacher’s consistent habit of arriving late continuously for the past three years allegedly hindered the academic progress of her students, prompting repeated complaints from parents and the school management committee. Following these complaints, officials from the Education Department conducted a surprise inspection and confirmed the teacher’s late arrivals. Consequently, the department issued a suspension order to address the negligence affecting students’ education.

 

Request for additional staff to prevent learning disruptions

 

In light of the teacher’s suspension, the school management committee has called for additional teachers to be appointed at Chaupadsa school to prevent further disruptions in the students’ studies.

The parents and committee members emphasised that students have already suffered due to the teacher’s actions and urged swift action to fill the gap.

 

Dept vows strict action against negligent staff

 

Deputy Director of Elementary Education and DIET Principal Surendra Sharma said, “The teacher at Chaupadsa school has been suspended immediately and her new headquarters is the Block Elementary Education Office in Naggar.

We will take strict action as per regulations against any teacher who neglects studies.”
