Amidst a flurry of political fervour, BJP candidate and Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut filed her nomination papers from the Mandi Lok Sabha constituency on Tuesday (May 14, 2024).
Prior to submitting her nomination, Kangana took to the streets for a massive roadshow and she was accompanied by prominent BJP leaders, including former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, who is the leader of opposition in Assembly, and state BJP president Rajeev Bindal.
Following the nomination, Kangana addressed a historic rally at the venue. The event saw the special presence of Saudan Singh, the national vice-president of BJP, along with BJP legislators from the Mandi parliamentary constituency.
Expressing her gratitude towards the people of Mandi, Kangana asserted that their love had brought her to this platform. She emphasised the growing recognition of women across various sectors in India, stating that while Mandi faced challenges such as female foeticide in the past, today, Mandi’s women are making strides in fields like the military, education, and politics. Kangana took a critical stance against the Congress party, highlighting concerns over its anti-national mindset.
She reiterated her commitment to serve the people of Mandi with pride, stating that the opportunity to contest elections from Mandi was a matter of immense honor for her.
“After achieving significant success in Bollywood, I am hopeful of making a mark in the political arena as well,” Kangana remarked confidently. Kangana’s nomination from the Mandi Lok Sabha seat has invigorated BJP supporters, who view her candidacy as a symbol of strength and determination.
With the election fervor intensifying, all eyes are now set on the electoral battleground of Mandi as the political drama unfolds in the run-up to the polls.
