Kangana Ranaut accuses Cong govt of stopping Mandi ‘Smart City’ project, says will resume when BJP returns to power

MANDI: The Congress-led Himachal Pradesh government has stopped the ‘Smart City’ project in Mandi, according to BJP MP Kangana Ranaut.
Speaking to journalists after inaugurating the “Sansad Jan Samvad Kendra” in Mandi, Kangana expressed confidence that all stalled projects would resume promptly once the BJP forms the government in the state.
“I received a tremendous lead from Mandi Sadar, which has raised the expectations of the people here. Fulfilling these expectations is my responsibility. The ‘Smart City’ project, which has been stalled will be restarted once the BJP comes to power in the state,” she said.
However, when questioned about the specific ways the Congress has impeded the Smart City project, Kangana Ranaut refrained from providing a detailed explanation. “The details will become clear once the BJP forms the government,” she stated.
Kangana emphasised her commitment to prioritising and completing essential projects across the Mandi parliamentary constituency. “We need to set our priorities and ensure that once we begin a task, we see it through to completion.
I urge the people of Mandi to help identify key priorities and provide suggestions,” she added, acknowledging her need for community support and guidance.
The MP also mentioned that she has already started raising Mandi’s issues in Parliament and has submitted several queries to various ministries, with responses still pending. “Since our party is in power at the center, I won’t share much with the media.
Speaking to the media is the job of the opposition, and I have no objections to it. People will see how I have raised Mandi’s concerns in Parliament over time,” Kangana said.
The parliamentarian stressed that other than initiating several infrastructure projects in the Mandi parliamentary constituency, opening up of central schools was one which tops her lists of “things to do” in near future as there were no central schools within the radius of over 100 km in the constituency.
Kangana announced the establishment of three offices within Mandi parliamentary constituency to facilitate better communication with the public. “We have one office at my Manali residence, another at my residence in Sarkaghat and a third office here in Mandi city.
People can visit these offices as per their convenience. If I’m not available, they can submit their concerns in writing to the staff and we will ensure they are addressed,” she explained.
During the office inauguration, Kangana also took the opportunity to meet locals and listen to their problems, reiterating her commitment to addressing their concerns effectively.
