Vikramaditya files nomination, vows not to leave any stone unturned for mandi’s progress

Mandi: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Thursday (May 9, 2024) launched a scathing attack on BJP leader Jai Ram Thakur alleging he was daydreaming of toppling the Congress government.

Speaking at a rally at Seri Manch in Mandi before party candidate Vikramaditya Singh filed his nomination, Sukhu said the Congress government would present its 15-month report card of development works before the public and seek votes based on its performance.

The Chief Minister said the current election was a fight between honesty and dishonesty in which the victory would be only of honesty.
Targeting Jai Ram, Sukhu alleged that the former Chief Minister was a flop director who was making the third “flop film” in two years.

He alleged that Jai Ram, as Chief Minister, directed his first movie in 2022 with the slogan “Riwaz badlengey” with an aim to retain power, but it flopped.

“The second movie was directed on February 27 when he tried to topple the government again and Jai Tam had even stitched a new suit. But this film too was a big flop. Now, Jai Ram is making a third film in which he has called a Bollywood heroine to shoot in Himachal Pradesh for a month,” he said.

Sukhu said Jai Ram had been shooting in a different disguise daily in the entire Mandi parliamentary constituency. “I am confident that Jai Ram’s this film will also flop as he is a flop director.

Kangana is a good and successful Bollywood actress, but nowadays she is stuck with the wrong director who will also sink her,” the Chief Minister said. He assured that whatever guarantees the Congress had announced in its manifesto would be fulfilled and women of state would continue to receive Rs 1,500 a month for their entire life.

Vikramaditya, while addressing the public, said that he would not leave any stone unturned for the development of Mandi parliamentary constituency, and that he had prepared a roadmap for this.

He said be it the construction of Bhu Bhu Jot tunnel or Jalodi Jot tunnel, he would ensure these were completed. He said during the 2023 rain disaster as well, he had brought Rs 3,500 crore from the Centre through his efforts, which was used for the upgradation of 2,800-km of roads. He said he would also make efforts to open CSD canteen depots in Sarkaghat and Jogindernagar so that families associated with the Army could benefit.

Deputy CM Mukesh Agnihotri, Congress state in-charge Rajeev Shukla, state president Pratibha Singh, Cabinet Minister Jagat Singh Negi and former minister Kaul Singh Thakur were among those present on the occasion.
