Canberra: International tourists won’t be welcomed back to Australia until 2022, PM Scott Morrison said. Last week, Australia had announced plans to reopen the country’s borders to fully vaccinated citizens and permanent residents from November after 18-month closure. Morrison added after Australians, the next priority would be skilled migrants and international students entering Australia before tourists.
Immigration at its lowest

The pandemic has also had a disastrous effect on Australian universities that rely heavily on fees paid by international students. The education sector fears that students will enroll in other countries unless Australia opens its border to them soon.
