Dharamshala, August 31, 2024 — The B.Tech and MCA departments of Government College Dharamshala organized an Induction and Orientation program from August 28 to August 31, 2024. The event was inaugurated by the District Officer of Kangra, IPS Shalini Agnihotri, who emphasized the importance of raising awareness among students about various narcotic substances and their dangers.
Following this, Dr. Rajneesh Diwan, the coordinator of the B.Tech department, addressed the students, underscoring the importance of discipline, hard work, and consistency as keys to success. The institution’s Principal, Dr. Rakesh Pathania, encouraged students to make the most of various opportunities in life and focus on holistic development.
The first day concluded with an informative session by Mr. Manoj Dhiman from the Central University of Himachal Pradesh, who provided insights into various online platforms, marking the end of the program’s first day.
The second day commenced with an address by the Principal, who highlighted the significance of education and life skills and motivated students to move forward with a positive outlook. The day’s second session featured Mr. Saurabh Jassal from Kangra, who inspired students through an interactive dialogue on achieving life goals.
In the third session, Dr. Pradeep Kaushal and Dr. Rajeev Kumar from NIT Hamirpur shared their experiences on communication skills and their life struggles, respectively. The day concluded with a session by Dr. Vikram Shrivats, MCA Department Coordinator, who introduced students to the principles of quantum computing.
On the third day, Dr. S.K. Soni, Principal of Government College Nagrota Bagwan, spoke on wealth creation and capital financing. The second session featured Mr. Gaurav from Excellence Technologies, Mohali, who provided valuable insights into Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Data Science.
The final day featured Dr. Ved Prakash Patial, Controller of Examinations and Dean at AI University, Palampur, who discussed e-waste management and the guru-disciple relationship. The four-day induction and orientation program concluded successfully on August 31, 2024.
Throughout the program, first-year MCA and B.Tech students were enthusiastic participants. Department heads, including Dr. Pawan Thakur, Dr. Satish Sood, Dr. Sachin Awasthi, and other faculty members, were present throughout the event, supporting and guiding the students.
