Not aware of nature of govt that could be formed in Afghanistan: MEA

India is not aware of the nature of the next government that could be formed in Afghanistan, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said. “Our focus is…Afghan soil shouldn’t be used for any terrorist activities against India. Currently, Kabul airport isn’t operational. We’ll resume our operation to evacuate people…as soon the airport will resume,” Bagchi stated.

India’s COVID-19 recovery rate currently at 97.45%; 45,352 new cases recorded

India’s COVID-19 recovery rate stands at 97.45%, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Friday as the country recorded 45,352 new cases. According to the latest data, 3,20,63,616 people have recovered so far. India’s active cases stand at 3,99,778 and the death toll has surged to 4,39,895.

3.72% confident that Covid-19 vaccines are safe & effective: Public poll

As per Public ki Awaaz poll conducted on location-based social network Public, 72% of respondents believe that Covid-19 vaccines are safe & effective. 8.8% of respondents showed hesitancy in getting vaccinated, of which 24% said they’re concerned about side effects, whereas 26% believe that more information on the vaccines can help shore up confidence. The poll garnered a total of 9,14,164 responses.

Travellers from 7 more nations need to carry RT-PCR report when coming to India: Government

After the discovery of C.1.2 COVID-19 variant, the government has said that passengers travelling to India from seven more countries will have to carry a negative COVID-19 test report not older than 72 hours. As per the latest guideline by Union Health Ministry, the rule will now be applicable to South Africa, Bangladesh, Botswana, China, Mauritius, New Zealand and Zimbabwe.
