India’s COVID-19 recovery rate stands at 97.45%, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Friday as the country recorded 45,352 new cases. According to the latest data, 3,20,63,616 people have recovered so far. India’s active cases stand at 3,99,778 and the death toll has surged to 4,39,895.

As per Public ki Awaaz poll conducted on location-based social network Public, 72% of respondents believe that Covid-19 vaccines are safe & effective. 8.8% of respondents showed hesitancy in getting vaccinated, of which 24% said they’re concerned about side effects, whereas 26% believe that more information on the vaccines can help shore up confidence. The poll garnered a total of 9,14,164 responses.

After the discovery of C.1.2 COVID-19 variant, the government has said that passengers travelling to India from seven more countries will have to carry a negative COVID-19 test report not older than 72 hours. As per the latest guideline by Union Health Ministry, the rule will now be applicable to South Africa, Bangladesh, Botswana, China, Mauritius, New Zealand and Zimbabwe.
